About Us
A small idea, raised by a community.
Wikwiheba Mwana is a not-for-profit organization founded in 2006, helping children with disabilities enjoy equal rights and dignity within their families.
Our Story
Hope in the heart of Gatsibo.
Wikwiheba Mwana is based in a rural area where children with disabilities run the risk of being marginalized by their own families. In some households, there is still a tendency to hide children in back yards.
Together with local officials, we conduct regular community awareness so that everyone understands persons with disabilities are entitled to the same human and constitutional rights as any other citizen.

Our Mission
Care that changes everything.
We are a charitable organization that strives to respond to the needs of children with cerebral palsy and other severe disabilities — providing care, nutrition, clothing, and medication.
We also refer children to specialized centers where needed and support families through the process, ensuring no parent feels they have to walk this path alone.

Core Values
What guides us
Patience, warmth and respect for every child and family we meet.
Transparent and accountable in every promise we make.
Parents, staff, and community standing as one circle of care.
Help is our main goal.
Healthcare and education complement each other to bring hope and optimism to children with disabilities.
